Bright, cold and windy – a thrush’s anvil, a grumpy fieldfare, ducks, lichen, blood on the tracks (and the badger’s hole I got my welly so stuck in that I had to spend a couple of minutes with one bare foot in the snow while I retrieved it). For me, but not for you: a woodcock (spectacularly dumpy) and a snipe (still too quick for me to photograph even though I knew where it would be and crept up on it).
