Fernworthy Forest
Weird things today: Scarlet Caterpillar Club (a cordyceps which takes over a butterfly or moth larvae or pupae and grows from inside the larva, filling it with mycelium), small stagshorn (aka – club-like tuning fork), orange peel fungus, a new stage in the raspberry jam slime mould life cycle and jelly spot fungus.
…and also – stag and doe, greater spotted woodpecker, black earth tongue, fly agaric and backlit birch leaves putting Mondrian in the shade.
…and also – on the way home a buzzard right next to the car – no photo-cropping required.
