Deer Park – Whiddon Woods – Fingle Bridge:

Agrion damselflies, scorpion flies, hoverflies, pearl-bordered fritillary, chimney sweeper moth, lots of spiders, thick-legged flower beetle and a jay. I’m pretty sure it’s a female pied flycatcher but I’ve been wrong before (it was helpful of her to turn round). The immature bilberry is much more beautiful than I realised, once I’d enlarged it. The unremarkable large grey beetle is a bit of a mystery (is it a large click beetle of some sort. It’s not in my book).
