The pied flycatcher was near last year’s hole in the tree which the nuthatches seem to have vacated – so, as we were, then. A pair of woodpeckers, a chimney sweeper moth, speckled wood, red admiral and unusually vocal and cooperative redstarts. Meanwhile the golden dungfly added some glamour.
