Meldon Reservoir – Black-a-tor Copse – Lints Tor – Green Tor – Bleak House – Kitty Tor – Corn Ridge – Branscombe’s Loaf – Shelstone Tor – Meldon Reservoir
About 13 miles of (pretty successfully) avoiding boggy bits – from Lints Tor to Branscombe’s Loaf was cross country. Black-a-tor Copse’s lichens and mosses, a female reed bunting, wrens in the sedges, various tors on skylines beneath dramatic skies, a puffball, Usnea, debris from mine-workings. There were two weird bits of crenellated granite – not sure why. One of those cold bright December days days when the only reason to come off the moor is because you’ll lose the light.
