Deer Park – Whiddon Woods – Fingle Bridge:
A fungi, lichens, autumnal leaves and slime mould day – with Fly Agarics everywhere. It was all quite squelchy and I was expecting more torrential rain but in fact, it stayed dry. I sat and wondered if the salmon were jumping yet at the salmon leap. Three did which is always exciting (or sad, once you take into account the fact that they’d survive a lot better without the weir being there). Anyway, I was too busy pondering to photograph them – so you’ll have to make do with large numbers of toadstools that I still haven’t got round to identifying.
