(and then a quick evening trip up Meldon):
I did a bit of exploring of paths I’d not tried before and got very wet feet in sphagnum bog as a reward. Lots of green tiger beetles and an impressively shiny Pterostichus cupreus (but possibly something else entirely!). More ferns, stone chats, a skylark, and mating dor beetles.
