Scorhill – Teign waterfalls

A wellies day (month?) – which means, of course, that I end up attempting to walk along streams and across marshy bits I wouldn’t think of attempting in walking boots. Thoroughly enjoyable if you like tramping along streams in the driving rain – which I do. There were four red deer – although my lens was so covered in rain the photos were hopeless. I’m not sure what the random lump of steampunk metal is – get rid of the rust and it could almost be a banding wheel. I wondered if it was otter spraint on top of a clump of moss. I’ve looked it up – apparently “both spraint and anal jelly are surprisingly pleasant. There is a sweetish jasmine tea type smell, blended with a hint of fish”. Next time I’ll smell it and be more definitive. There’s a little clump of stunted bushes in amongst the mine workings which keeps catching my eye on the wrong side of the Teign – next time!
