A ‘stag-do’ and, I’m going to stick my neck out, a ‘ring-ouzel-do’ as well.
Re: stags. I now know what stag smells like. He ran out from the trees immediately beside us. Amazingly exciting – and, on reflection, probably quite dangerous too. The photo is a second or two later, once I’d worked out what was going on. He then watched us – sizing us up for next time. Nice beard. The other one was very near the first one. These are different stags to the one I saw here a couple of days ago.
Re: ring ouzels. I’ve sent the photos to a friend who knows about these things but that’s definitely a white bib, whichever way he turns. So, until I’m told they’re not, I’m going to be very excited. [He said they were!]
In other news – the toadstools are even more photogenic as they decay.
