Rushford Bridge – Chagford Bridge
A day for blurry birds. Magpies (and jays) are too watchful and tree creepers don’t stop moving. The mandarin duck was relatively well behaved. Other than that: flies on bluebells, flies on bracken, red campion, pink purslane and stinky Bob. It’s an urban myth that gangs mark their territory with trainers hung from phone lines – but a little part of me imagines rural gangs using alder.
