Lanehead – Nattor Down – Ger Tor – Hare Tor – Sharp Tor – Dead Lake (actually a stream / mine-workings) – Deadlake Foot – Tavy Cleave – Nat Tor:

Apart from Sharp Tor, which was its usual misty self, it was a beautiful sunny Autumn morning. Lots of trying to work out a decent route across the moor and down the stream. A moment when I realised I was standing on a rocking raft of hard peat / grass floating on a sea of bog. One dramatic ‘mud angel’ fall on a (fortunately very soft) muddy slope and, a few moments later, stepped in a muddy bit which went up to my knee. I pondered whether I should undress for the journey home but settled for sitting on plastic bags.
