Fernworthy Forest (with dippers this evening at Rushford stepping stones):
With rain forecast every moment until next week, there might be a few forest walks in the near future. The mossy beech trees are presumably remnants from before the Forestry Commission got hold of the area. All along the old walls. They’re extraordinary. The ceramic beer bottle and the red stripe can were presumably discarded by similar people 100 years apart. They weren’t quite this close together – but almost. The ceramic beer bottle is very badly made – V-shaped inside in cross section (on purpose to hold less beer? When intact you couldn’t tell what shape they were and they were recycled so you wouldn’t want to break them to find out).
