Rushford Mill – Fingle Bridge

I don’t remember getting this drenched before. It all started so promisingly: 50% chance of light shower… When I set off it was overcast but warm … and then it rained steadily for three hours. It was all going so well – the buds were beautiful, the warblers were warbling and cooperative and then it started to pour and I decided that it wasn’t worth soaking the camera for a better shot of the woodpecker, put it under my coat and it didn’t emerge again. The chips and pint at Fingle Bridge Inn in front of the fire were perfect. I was the only customer – everyone else had stayed at home.
