Deer Park – Fingle Bridge:
The male Nemophora degeerella moth has the longest antennae of any British moth, apparently. There were lots of them in a patch of sunlight showing off, I think. Amazing! Snipe flies, Scorpion flies, Mayflies, Volucella bombylans (a hover fly that mimics bumble bees), Damselfly, Ichneumon flies, Emerald geometer moth (not sure which one), Black and Red Froghopper, green-veined white, soldier beetles… …a cooperative dipper and uncooperative wren, an oak tree with odd-looking leaves. …and the obligitary ferns, dead branches, leaves and so on. One of those days when lots was going on.
