Fernworthy
I very nearly trod on an adder while I was creeping towards the dragonfly but he/she took evasive action which was just as well. The oak leaves on neighbouring trees were hugely different and beautifully lit up for me. Lots of linnets today, a flying stone chat – it was almost hovering. Butterflies, damselflies, and a grasshopper. The five spot burnets were out in force as were the little moths. I was in a shallow gully and swallows were swooping so close I could have reached out and caught them if I’d been quick enough.
