Fernworthy forest

Sunshine, dragonflies, boletes etc. but today was mainly about the stag. 13 points – which makes him a royal stag, I think.

I think they’re king boletes and scarletina boletes. The dragonfly is a common darter. The dusky puff-ball sounds quite inviting. The small false greenbottle, less so. Alphabetically: W for red deer and Y for sticky scalycap (although I’m not confident that that’s what they are). Maybe K for red campion. The yellow stagshorn looks like a fairy hand beckoning me to the underworld (but I’ve just read Shirley Jackson’s ‘The Haunting of Hill House’, so I’m susceptible to such things). The teenage meadow pipit looks confident behind the microphone.
