Chagford – Murchington – Black-a-ton Copse – Wonson – Throwleigh – Shilley Pool – Kennon Hill – Scorhill – Kestor – Chagford

I wanted to go from Shilley Pool to Scorhill and today seemed as good a day as any. Sticklepath has taken much better care of its boundary stones than anyone else, it turns out. I quite like the way they haven’t painted the neighbouring one. I reckon an annual “No, we don’t do theirs” conversation takes place! Wonson’s defences, Throwleigh’s sundial, apples on the tree, odd looking spraint on a rock, sparrowhawk, misty Bronze Age stuff, gorse-burning at Scorhill and an orchid (but not in flower yet).
