Fernworthy

There were extraordinary numbers of shield bugs (Sloe bugs?) on various seed heads. Also a very sinister hollow/black eyed Jay (unlike most Jays it was cooperative – albeit from a distance). It looked a bit odd – juvenile? – I saw an article about how gannets which had recovered from bird flu had black eyes – maybe it’s just a poor photo! Various toadstools, including a stinkhorn, scabious, knapweed, a Cinnamon bug, a silver washed fritillary, and flies – lots of flies.
