Fernworthy:
My new lens arrived, it fits the camera body which seems fine. I was a bit worried that I’d damaged that too. I went out to Fernworthy to test it out – enthusiastically going off-piste through the forest, clear-felled bits and following a stream through the marsh. Flies, butterflies, hoverflies, scorpion flies, damselflies. A few flowers in various stages of undress, a beetle doing its best Star Wars AT-AT impression, a chimney sweeper moth, five-spot burnet, a great spotted woodpecker, a deer, a froglet (there were thousands charging across the mud – really thousands!), and a bug. It’s good to have my camera working again – although whether the hound prefers it is debatable.
