Fernworthy Forest (16th / 23rd)

It’s not often you get three lizards in a single frame. All getting a bit autumnal with geometric seedheads (foxgloves, self heal), frayed butterflies and flies trying hard to collect the last of the nectar. The dragonflies (southern hawkers, black darters) are wonderful at the moment – although the southern hawkers still won’t land. Birdsfoot trefoil, figwort and devil’s bit scabious are still flowering. The swallows are furiously feeding fledglings in the barn.
