Fernworthy forest

I had planned to wander through the forest up to Teignhead Farm but the weather came at the wrong time – so I cut back through various favourite glades that I haven’t been through in ages. Odd to think that the forest floor will be carpeted with false chanterelles in a few weeks (possibly in a few days) but, for now, there’s no sign. The darters were fun yesterday so I went ack to see them. The goldcrest photo isn’t great – but the others were woeful. The lichens and mosses are beginning to step up. The scabious, hoverflies and bees are hanging on though. The rippling water through the reflected leaves looked amazing but is disappointing as still photos. I might have a go at video next time. The purple toadstools are always dramatic. I hope I haven’t missed the young ones.
