Fernworthy
I know I ought to go on a trek across the moor but Fernworthy has lots going on at the moment. Today there were common darters everywhere. Two, on a gate, were quite happy for me to unlatch the gate, walk through and relatch it without stirring. A few flies and butterflies (peacock, small copper – and red admiral but he wouldn’t land) and a grizzly grasshopper. The wooly caterpillar (fox moth) didn’t seem in much of a hurry. Toadstools are busy appearing in new places but no sign of the false chanterelles yet.
