Fernworthy – Thornworthy
A treat: roe deer, red deer, red crossbills (best yet), and a fox. Also – a weird blue-staining fungus (green wood cup), scarlet elf cap, frosty leaves, broken bracken, witches butter, moss. And a liverwort – tamarisk scalewort – that I’ve assumed for years was a lichen. My Merlin app assured me that it had heard a bittern. If it really did (and it seems unlikely), I didn’t.
