Chagford – Whiddon Woods – Fingle Bridge
I very much want it to be a lesser spotted woodpecker – no red under tail, no white shoulder… …it must be(!). I’m more confident on the goosander, dipper and the (extraordinarily uncooperative) mandarin ducks. I’ve no idea why a flock of mandarin ducks chose to visit the Teign today. Also, the sad end of the leviathan labelled 00144 – maybe he’ll sprout up from the stump.
