Scorhill – Little Hound Tor – Wild Tor – Hangingstone Hill – Cranmere Pool – Ockerton Court – Watern Tor – Shovel Down – Scorhill (14 miles)

I got to Hangingstone and, with the ground so solid, it would have been rude not to stride over the frozen bog to Cranmere Pool and Ockerton Court. Frosty moorland, a frozen puddle which looked like a squirrel skull, stone circles and about twenty red deer as a surprise at the end. Quite how the hound managed to get across Manga Crossing with more-or-less dry feet is a mystery – probably because I momentarily took him off the lead. The photo before is one of the stepping stones he negotiated.
