Deer Park – Whiddon Wood – Fingle Bridge:

Crossing the submerged stepping stones wasn’t very wise, but I made it! I spent ages trying (and failing) to work out how to photograph a large flock of silhouetted long-tailed tits. In the deer park I was surprised to find lots of frogspawn – seems a bit early. I swapped secret routes through the woods to ‘creepy tor’ with someone I met walking her dog. Inquisitive deer, nesting dippers, buds and nuthatches (and the obligatory leaves, toadstools, ferns, mosses and lichen).
