Fernworthy Forest
A good spot for a C13th Werwulf film, you might think. All the usual toadstools are hoping to make the cut. Today’s new faces are rosy bonnet (?), bulbous honey mushroom, fragrant funnel, blood red webcap, earth tongue and powderpuff bracket. The goldcrest hadn’t got the knack of staying still – he bounced around in front of me for ages, relatively pointlessly. The inkcaps seem to have been and gone – I’ve seen hardly any so far. The buzzard looks a bit too grey to be a buzzard but that’s probably what he is (Seek thinks he’s a barn owl – which makes some of its confident toadstool IDs a bit suspect).
