Scorhill – White Moor Stone Circle – Hound Tor – Watern Tor – I then followed the wall all the way to below Quintin’s Man – Sittaford Tor – Grey Wethers – Stonetor Hill – Shovel Down – Scorhill

[Hint: If you’re not keen on lichen it’s worth skipping through to the deer (lots of deer)]

I’ve wanted to follow the wall below Watern Tor from end to end for a long time – today was the day. Lots of lichens, lots of granite, lots of plovers and – because I believed the fierce hound’s ‘I can smell deer’ posture and stalking skills – lots of deer too – 21, to be exact. Woolly Fringed moss, Meadow pipits, buzzard, frogspawn, ‘the wall’, a horse straight out of Vogue, and a sheep in warpaint. Meanwhile, the Seek app confidently identified a bird.
