If I could remember where I’d packed my bird book I’d be able to say that the little browny-green bird was a willow warbler with a bit more confidence. The goldfinch and the two swallows are easier. I didn’t see the mosquito when I took the photo. The strange bit of moss was spinning in mid-air from a long invisible strand of cobweb. And lichens always look better in the rain.
